A website without traffic might just as well have never been built. It’s invisible and unsuccessful. It’s a fact – No Traffic = Invisible! There are many tried and tested free methods for driving web traffic to your website. Many of these free methods are absolute gems that can drive truckloads of web traffic to your website. Here are the top free methods I use to gain PR4 and PR5 for most of my blogs and web sites.
1. Offer a great freebie like an ebook or tutorial, with your web site links imbedded, then let others give it away for free at their site, too. They can use it as an incentive, bonus, or just as a gift for visitors. It adds value for those sites that spread it and it creates more visitors back to your site as your freebie spreads because of your imbedded links.
2. One of the best ways to increase web traffic is to accumulate quality links to your site. Not only do you get more people from the linked sites to visit your site, but you get better rankings with search engines. The combination of increased traffic from linked sites and more internet traffic from the search engines will provide a huge pay off for the time and effort you invest. But, stay away from Link Farms and buying links. Go only for sites with quality that matches yours.
3. Visit and comment in Forums. If your comments are interesting and liked by the forum members, they will click on your link and visit your website regularly. This is a great way to create a targeted traffic. This mode of free website advertisement is also relatively untapped by many marketers for driving web traffic, so you can take full advantage by using your writing skills and create traffic from the forums. Just remember – Your posts should really be useful to the members of the forum. Don’t post just to sell something. You will be banned.
4. Another great method of driving targeted web traffic is joining popular social networking web sites. Social networking web sites can immediately send your website a flood of targeted web traffic. The common factor between all the social networking sites is social interaction. These sites are hugely popular and are liked by the search engines for this fact. Social sites like the Facebook and MySpace are so popular that they can send you massive traffic.
5. I saved my #1 method for last – Article Marketing. Article Marketing can dramatically increase the targeted traffic to your web site and increase your search engine rankings at the same time if you provide quality information! Your high quality, original, search engine optimized content will be spread around the web. Your articles feature your Author Box which is where you place a snippet about your web site and it’s products and services.
Article submission sites are extremely popular, and many web masters depend completely on
them to borrow free articles for their own web sites with a condition that the articles borrowed shall contain the full text and the Author Box. These could be your articles with your Author Box! This creates a free viral traffic to your website when your quality articles are published by other web sites.
Try free methods before you consider buying traffic. Frankly, I have yet to pay for traffic since first going on line in May of 2006.

Even though blogging on the internet as a means to making money has become quite common place nowadays, with hundreds of thousands of blogs and countless bloggers attempting to monetize their sites, countless bloggers are struggling to make any money whatsoever from their blogs and sites. This leads to a sense of failure amongst those bloggers who have not succeeded in monetizing their sites and what is more they get even more dejected as they read about so called gurus who claim to have earned money well into the six figures by blogging. These so called wealthy bloggers do not however state how many figures past the decimal point they include in their claims. However, every blogger needs to simply concentrate on the basics, put in the necessary effort and by dedication and persistence can also earn well from blogs.
Most bloggers monetize their blogs by way of context sensitive advertisements. The problem is they place their advertisements tucked away in a corner where no one can see them! The blog visitor is not going to go hunting for your advertisements. You are lucky to have him or her visit your blog in the first place! They then listen to so called gurus that say too many advertisements turns off visitors. If that were really true, simply go to the local bookstore and buy any magazine from their racks and you will observe tons of advertisements within its pages. If these magazine publishers were to listen to these gurus, they would take out all of the advertisements but a few and there goes the advertising revenue down to the basement.
Advertising is the way to earn money from blogs and hence do not feel shy placing advertisements on your blog in a place where the visitors can see them clearly. The complaining visitor need not come to your site and you have not lost anything since he would not look at the advertisements anyway, let alone your content. Next, besides concluding to place as many advertisements as you are allowed by the terms of service of the advertisements provider, you need to place them where visitors are most likely to see and take action upon. Human beings are naturally trained to see from left to right and so the best places to place advertisements are on the left and may be one block on the right towards the beginning of the post within the first two paragraphs. Proper choice of colors and fonts and font sizes should be used so the advertisements blend in with the post content. Too many flashing icons and such are usually very hard on the eyes and people generally go past them too quickly.
Next comes the content of your blog. Every one knows content is king but what is important to note is great content is the king of kings. The same subject matter can be delivered to the visitor in many ways some of which are boring, some are interesting and some just fabulous. You need to take the time to write fabulous content and not write stuff that can be used in place of a sleeping pill. Break up very long subject matter into bite sized chunks. Introduce humor and let your visitor have to think as he reads your stuff. Respect the visitor but give him enough advertisements to react to. Work hard in promoting your blog and getting unique visitors and you will be well on the way to make insane amounts of money from your blog. And when you do make a lot of money, please do not boast about it like some do.

It sounds like the perfect job doesn’t it? Writing your thoughts in a blog and somehow getting rich because of it – what a life. Of course, most of the stories you hear of people getting rich blogging are about those few whose blog has become hugely popular, enabling them to make a fortune. It is fair to say that these are the exceptions and that for each success story there are millions more blogs that are seen by very few people and from which the authors get hardly any income.
However, the way to make money from blogs is not to just start blogging and hope you are one of the few who get fantastically lucky. You may as well just buy a lottery ticket. The process is not magical or mysterious and you can take a tried and tested and logical approach to it, which will guarantee you a decent income in time. Blogs make money because visitors click on adverts or follow affiliate recommendations. That is where the money comes from, so the only way to get that money is to have lots of visitors to your blog, and your income increases in proportion with the number of visitors you have. If you have visitors, you will get money – simple as that.
Which leads us onto the question of how you actually get those visitors. You can’t just write about what you want and hope visitors will find your blog – they are not likely to find it unless you get very lucky. If you want to be guaranteed visitors, you need to choose the right subject for your blog, and optimize it for search engines. The visitors you need to attract to your blog are from search engines, because these are free and plentiful. The choice of subject for your blog is absolutely crucial, because you must find a niche that is of interest to enough people, without being in competition with lots of other websites and blogs. Only if you do this can you hope to achieve high enough ranking in the search engine results to get lots of visitors. Proper research is therefore essential.
Even if you choose the right topic, that will not be enough in itself to get visitors. You need to create and promote your blog in such a way as to make sure the search engines rate it as an important and useful site. This is called search engine optimization and among other things involves selecting the right key phrases for your posts and getting other sites to link to your blog. Backlinks from other sites are seen by search engines as an indication of quality and importance.
Let’s suppose you get all this right, choose the right niche, select the best keywords and get links back to your blog so that it shows up in search engine results and gets a steady stream of visitors. Well done, because that is quite an achievement in itself, but it is unlikely to earn you more than a few dollars a day. The only certain way to earn serious money from blogging, is to create lots of other blogs that meet the same criteria as the one we have just described. I mean ten, twenty or even a hundred blogs, all attracting different visitors and earning money every day. Then your income really is worth having.
The problem is the time it takes to create this number of blogs, or any kind of website. You can’t skimp on the proper research for the right niche and keywords, and neither can you skimp on good content or all the search engine optimization you need to do, so how can you possibly make enough blogs to earn serious cash? Not surprisingly you can’t, unless you employ some sort of tool or software, or combination of tools, to automate as much of the process as possible.
There are lots of tools available to do with generating and promoting blogs, but you need to be careful to avoid any which just enable you to churn out junk blogs full of second hand content and adverts. While claims of putting blogs up without having to write content may sound appealing, search engines hate duplicate content and such blogs will never rank well enough to get decent traffic. What you require is something that will guide you through all the stages you need to go through to create a quality blog, while automating as much of the process as possible.

Just like all other things, even journals and diaries have evolved into something that can already be accessed online through the internet. Who would have thought that this kind of a personal thing can now be used to make money from home?
Blogging or online journals have become very popular as early as the late 90’s when people started having websites where they post things about themselves. Blogspot is one of the pioneers in providing online journal sites. This site gives a free username that can be used as their blog name and from there a blogger can tweak the way his site looks to make it more interesting.
With the growing trend of people wanting to work and make money from home, these blogging sites have found and devised ways to make their blogs profitable and make it into a full-time business. Most stay-at-home mothers nowadays create and use their blogs to write posts or entries that are being paid by advertisers who utilize sites such as PayU2Blog and PayPerPost to market their products. The availability of assignments (as these paid blogging topics are called) is based on the page rank of the blog. The higher the page rank of a blog is according to their Google rank, the higher the price these assignments are paid. There are even posts that can make you earn more than $100 if your site has high traffic and has a very high page rank.
A number of stay-at-home mothers have now realized the potential income they can actually gain from blogging. Aside from the fact that they can readily interact with people who share the same interests as they have, every click of an ad on their site and every hit their blog entries have is a way for them to make money from home. There are a lot of sites that they can sign up with that can help achieve their goal of reaching a higher page rank and more hits to generate more income. This possibility makes them a step closer toward their goal of achieving financial success in the comfort of their own homes.
Although most blogs generally speak of daily life’s happenings (as it is true in people who write on their diaries on a daily basis), one may need to write about a certain expertise or subject matter in order to make money from home more effectively. If you signed up for an ad placement service on your blog like Google AdSense, what it does is to place ads that are specific to your blog’s topics so you can target a more specific market. It is important for a blogger to have a specific target market when blogging for profit because this will drive accurate and targeted traffic to your site, attracting only those who are looking for serious business and not just the fly-by-night ones.
Blogging can be fun and profitable at the same time. It does not only enhance and improve your writing skills but will also introduce you to people who have the same interests and goals as you have. There are so many individuals out there looking for opportunities and this is a good way of meeting those who need your guidance in starting a business that will enable them to make money from home and be truly happy about it.
